Supported
Employment Services:
What is Supported Employment?
Many employers are unsure about the term "supported employment" and
what it means. It is:
· the opportunity to
reduce the exploding cost of training and retraining employees.
· a clearinghouse of individuals that are ready and willing to
come to work for you.
Not only are you provided with excellent candidates to fill your positions,
but Goodwill Industries will also provide additional training or support
services that the individual may need at no cost to your company. Retention
is also part of the process.
What can I expect?
You can expect to receive people who are competitive, competent, and
committed individuals. Even though many of the individuals may have
disabilities, you can be assured you will have a qualified employee for
appropriate job descriptions and available positions. These services will be
provided to your organization as long as the employee remains employed.
Or, consider this...
· Serving as a Pre-Employment Evaluation Site. We are
always looking for exploration facilities where our participants can
experience a true work environment. At no cost, no liability and no
responsibility to you, an individual could learn about a profession.
· A Job
Shadowing Facility. Many times we need site facilities where our job coaches and
clients with disabilities can learn the skills needed to train the
individual.
How do I benefit?
· Multiple Tax Credits. You can get over 40% of an individual's wages reimbursed via the
Federal Income Tax Credit.
· Prepared and
Qualified Labor Force
· Long-term Employees
· Continued Education and Developmental Retraining

Would you be interested in earning extra money with a flexible schedule?
A Training Specialist is a "job coach," designed to develop
employment skill-sets and transferable skills to the client and provide
support services. Job coaches work with clients with disabilities to gain the
skills, knowledge and abilities that can be lifelong resources for
them. Job coaches serve as a liaison between the employer and client
with a disability. Job coaches want to ensure that employers are
receiving the quality and quantity of work they expect, and they certainly
want to ensure the clients are receiving the vocational help and assistance
needed to retain and improve employment. Goodwill is always looking for
Training Specialists. If you are interested, give Goodwill a call to see if
you meet the requirements/qualifications for this position.
