Business Donations

Many businesses do not realize the potential of business donations and tend to view the entire donation process as an unnecessary hassle. Goodwill Industries would like to help you make the donation process a mutually beneficial relationship for both partners.

The biggest advantage to businesses donating items is the possibility of claiming a tax deduction on its next IRS statement. These deductions are very easy and can be advantageous, especially when collected over the period of a year. Another advantage is it frees up valuable store and storage space. We know firsthand how much space overstocked and returned merchandise can occupy. This is valuable space to you and your business. One phone call can have all those donations picked up within a few days! It's easy and hassle-free!

Besides the tax advantage, your donation really makes a difference to our organization. More than 50 percent of our revenue comes from donations. The cycle of donations feeding our retail stores fuels our mission. The mission of Goodwill Industries is to assist persons with disabilities or those who are otherwise vocationally disadvantaged to achieve full participation and integration into society. This mission is accomplished through the development and delivery of effective human services which enable individuals to attain their goals of personal and economic independence.

All of your donations stay right here in West Virginia, helping many of your friends and neighbors – and when you donate to Goodwill Industries of Kanawha Valley, you can be sure your donation will be used properly. More than .89 cents of every dollar is invested into our training and employment programs.
